TDMS HARVINGTON moved third and right into the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Two promotion picture with an excellent 3-1 win at leaders Alderton.

Harvington scored through Philpott, Sallis and Dalloway, with the prolific Matt Greaves on target for Alderton.

Charlton Fladbury defeated visitors Badsey Recreation 4-2 in the only other game in the division.

Stour Excelsior Reserves moved to the top of Division Three with a 3-2 victory at Dragons in which the Shipston side scored through Ian Ross, Patrick Ross and Cartwright and the home side netted through Donnison and Wilsden.




Pebworth were knocked off the top following a surprise 3-1 defeat at home to TDMS Evesham, for whom Upson, McGarr and Horne were on target. Smith netted for Pebworth.

Ashton 88 remain in the promotion race after a comfortable 5-1 home win over Bengeworth. Begley (2), Johnson, Fisher and Cope scored for Ashton and Giles was the Bengeworth scorer.


The match between hosts Ambi Allsports and Alcester Town was abandoned after 70 minutes after the visitors’ goalkeeper suffered a serious injury, from which he is recovering well.

In Division One, Mickleton Rangers picked up three valuable points thanks to a 3-0 success at Offenham Rovers through goals from Robinson (2) and Barnes, whilst Stour Excelsior’s faint title hopes were ended as they lost 2-1 to visitors Tewkesbury Town.

Three Evesham league teams have reached the WFA Sunday Junior Cup last eight, including Broadway United and Bretforton Old Boys who both received walkovers due to opponents withdrawing.

Evesham WMC were 7-5 home winners against Bromsgrove Corinthians as the Workies’ goals came from Dixon (3), Grady (3) and Ford, but New Inn Pershore lost 3-2 to Redditch-based visitors CBH Fasteners.

Cropthorne reached the last four of the WFA Sunday Minor Cup as goals from Clayton and Boother saw off holders and visitors Mostyn Rangers 2-1, but Broadway United Reserves lost out 5-3 on penalties at Express Falcons after a 2-2 draw and Bretforton Old Boys Reserves were beaten 1-0 by visiting Kidderminster side Spennells United.
