JOAN HUNT edged to a thrilling victory in the Evesham Golf Club Ladies Club Championship annual 36-hole competition played over two days.
The fairways were playing very hard and fast on day one, with the greens lush and more forgiving. The second day was a little cooler with the ladies playing early in the morning.
It was a hard-fought match and results needed to be calculated by a play-off and countback.
The club champion with the best two gross scores was Hunt with an impressive 98+91 for 189.
However, this was very closely contested by Melanie Evans who also made a gross 189 and the pair were only separated following three play-off holes.
Eunice Allen also prevailed on countback to become best nett winner with scores of 74 and 78 for 152, ahead of runner-up Margaret Roberts with 73 and 79 for the same score.
