TWO BIRDSEYE Sports Evesham Sunday League teams were knocked out of the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup by lower graded opposition.

Ambi Allsports produced the biggest first round upset in accounting for visitors Tewkesbury Town 5-3 with goals from A Dyke (2), Gary Dyke, Corr and Richardson, whilst holders Evesham WMC crashed out at the first hurdle as they lost 4-2 at home to Broadway United Reserves.

Steele, Tomkotowicz, Goodall and Burkenshaw scored for Broadway, whilst Grady and White netted for the Workies.

Stour Excelsior hit five without reply against visitors Fortis as Drinkwater (3), Harris and Featherstone scored for the Shipston side, whilst Inkberrow won 13-1 at Fairfield Titans.

Rogers, Ballard and Smith scored for New Inn Pershore in their 3-1 home win over Bredon, Bretforton Old Boys accounted for visitors Offenham Rovers 4-1 and Alderton edged out hosts Dragons 1-0.

Broadway United were made to work hard to overcome visitors Bretforton Old Boys Reserves 4-3 as goals from Jason Horsburgh (3) and Aspey took the hosts through. Booth, Dovey and Staley netted for Old Boys.

Two matches were settled on penalty kicks, including the match between hosts Sun Inn and Alcester Town who drew 4-4. Watts bagged a hat-trick for Sun Inn, for whom Parry also scored, and Singh netted all four of Alcester’s goals but this proved to be in vain as the home side progressed 6-5 on spot kicks.

TDMS Evesham defeated visitors Charlton Fladbury on penalties after the sides had shared two goals.

Williams (2), Payne, Boother, Haughton and Taylor scored for Cropthorne in their 6-2 home win over Stour Excelsior Reserves and TDMS Harvington progressed with a 2-0 success at Strawberry Field United.

Stratford HGC won 4-1 at Ashton 88 through goals from Watkin, Dixon, Spilsbury and Vertich, with Begley on the mark for the hosts.
