Harriers continue to fly high

NEWCOMERS Harvington Harriers continued their excellent Evesham Sunday League Division Three campaign with a 3-1 victory over Bredon thanks to goals from Chris Rogers, Johnny Robinson and Adam Ayres.

Stour Excelsior Reserves defeated Ashton 88 Reserves 4-0 with goals from Nick Walker (2), Nick Shurmer and Daniel Savage and Dragons recorded an excellent 6-3 win over Fortis as Lee Tustin (2), Jamie Heritage, Alex Lane, Adam Hinchcliffe and Thomas Donnison all found the net for Dragons, with Fortis replying with goals from Ashleigh Booth (2) and Max Tarry.

TDMS Evesham picked up a valuable three points in Division Two as they came from behind to defeat Pebworth 4-3 with doubles from Harrison Middleton (2) and Tom Dixon (2). Jake Gray, Tom Benfield and Adam Keen scored for the visitors.

Stour Excelsior won 4-3 at Stratford HGC through goals from Richard Moss, Owen Clarke, Mike Pearson and Edward Caswell.




Ashton 88 and Drakes Broughton produced an excellent game as they drew 4-4. Ashton’s goalscorers were Steven Turner, Alfie Dawe, Nathan Green and Matthew Ingle, whilst Mark Magee (2), Matt Magee and Connor Sherry netted for Strawberry Field United in their 4-3 win over Cropthorne, for whom Neil Taylor (2) and Jack Dean scored.

In Division One, Evesham WMC cruised to a 12-3 victory over Broadway United as Elliott Grady led the way with five goals and Ryan Dixon (2), Matt Irons, Sean Cooke, James Bearcroft and Ben Bearcroft also struck.


Bretforton Old Boys won the top of the table clash with Inkberrow 3-1 thanks to goals from Sam Beddoes (2) and Robbie Sone. Inkberrow scored through Tom Emblem.

TDMS Harvington progressed into the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup third round with a comfortable 6-1 win at Fladbury in which Luke Woodfield (3), Nathan Reader (2) and Jack Philpott scored the goals.

Mickleton Rangers moved into the GFA Sunday Premier Cup third round thanks to a 5-4 success at Gloucester side Rising Sun with goals from Joe Godson (2), Dan Moore (2) and Alfie Barnes.

Alderman United defeated Lower Stanley 6-1 in the Minor Cup second round as the Tewkesbury side’s goals came from Jake Petitt (5) and Jamie Goodwin.

The two rearranged WFA Sunday Premier Cup second round ties brought defeat for Bretforton Sports Club and New Inn Pershore against Feckenham Sunday (4-3) and Redditch Borough (7-2) respectively.
