Gymnasts impress in Vale event

THERE was delight for Evesham gymnasts when they represented Worcestershire Gymnastics Academy (WGA) at the Malcolm Gee four-piece competition hosted by Evesham-based All Starz Gymnastics Club.

WGA sent nine teams to compete, including many in the novice section as seven of the nine teams were from the club’s recreational programme as the main squad are all preparing for other competitions.

WGA won five team gold medals, two team silvers, one team bronze and, with the novice under nine girls finishing a respectable fifth in their first out of club competition, the club is very happy with the results and so are all the gymnasts.

It was a fantastic day as more than 50 teams from four clubs competed for medals in several age and ability categories on the floor, vault, trampette and bars, with the top three scores counting.
