MEMBERS from the Vale Golf Club dominated proceedings at the club’s annual seniors pairs open competition.
The event took place on the Vale’s 18-hole course as 90 players from 21 different clubs took part.
Played in a pairs Stableford format, each pair made once score per hole.
And the Vale pairing of Steve Hampton and Graham Whitehead triumphed with a total of 50 points.
The Vale also claimed the runner-up spot as Mel Locke and Rob Sharp finished second on 46 points.
Just a point further back, Cotswold Hills Golf Club pair Eric Fennell and Grant Miller finished third.
The Vale’s Michael Heard and Arthur Collingwood finished fourth with fellow club members Andrew Jinks and Bryn Keast fifth both on 45 points.
Evesham Golf Club’s Neil Croft was nearest to the pin on the fifth hole while the Vale’s Antony Witt was nearest to the pin in two shots on the 17th hole.
And South Staffordshire Golf Club’s Alan Charter won the raffle and golf bag which raised a further £450 for the Evesham and District Meeting Centre Support Programme.
