EVESHAM Golf Club’s Seniors Mixed Open was held in very warm conditions on July 16 but Martin Williams and Jean Bevan withstood the heat to emerge victorious.
In second place were Peter Belcher and Jenny Masser and third were Brian and Sally Rogers (all Evesham Golf Club), whilst fourth place on countback went to Bob Griffiths (Bewdley Pines) and Angela Fletcher (Evesham).
A total of £164 was donated to the captain’s charity – Multiple Sclerosis – through the sale of raffle tickets.
EVESHAM seniors took on Lilley Brook seniors at home on July 21 and, after a 5-1 defeat at Lilley Brook in June, Evesham obtained their revenge by winning 4.5-1.5.
The results were as follows: Neil Croft and Geoff Burton won 2&1; Ian Facer and Steve Deakin won 1 up; Ian Tait and Richard Steel halved; Bill Dobie and Peter Gilbert won 5&4; Matthew Lloyd and Doug Sharp won 3&2; Dave Hartland and Peter Edmunds lost 5&3.
A STABLEFORD competition was held by Evesham ladies on Tuesday and in Division One Joan Hunt took first place with 34 points and Sally Deakin was second, also on 34.
In Division Two Val Lemon was first with 28 points and second was Carolyn Washbourne on 27.
Valerie Bomford with 33 points claimed first place in Division Three and second was Sandi Insall on 32.
