PERSHORE High School’s year ten girls produced some impressive performances at the county badminton tournament.
The team, consisting of Emma Brown, Cassidy Matheson, Emily Patterson, Heather Titterton and Alice Patterson, had won January’s district competition to reach the county stage.
Each team was placed in a three-team group and would play an array of matches against two opponents, with the winners reaching the finals.
Pershore faced a stern test as they were drawn against two private schools and, after a lot of exciting games, they emerged victorious against Malvern St James but lost by just three games to Bromsgrove.
Pershore’s Alice Patterson said: “The competition in our section was very high and overall we finished second in our group.
“We were very pleased to have beaten Malvern St James and give Bromsgrove a good game and are looking forward to hopefully attending county badminton again next year.”
