Evesham Editorial 10th Oct, 2018   0

TWENTY-ONE Evesham Vale Triathletes finished their season of club racing by taking part in the Warwickshire Triathlon Relay (swim, bike and run) in Stratford.

Members’ names were randomly pulled out of a hat to make up the teams and this triathlon was a good way of having fun as an inter-club competition celebrated all that has been achieved by the club over the 2018 season.

The EVT Mumford and Sons team which comprised of Julian Horsley, Warren Mantle and Marcus Mumford was the club’s first-placed relay team in a fantastic time of 58:33 minutes.

The EVT Waddling Spots ladies’ team of Kirsty McGaul, Helen Seabourne and Julie Cross came first overall in the ladies’ relay event in 1:25 hours.

EVT also had a junior team taking part with Zac George swimming, junior coach Lindsey Lewis-Painter riding the bike leg as this needed an adult and George Bessant bringing it home on the run.

The team completed the triathlon in an impressive time of 59:55 minutes.

Club members taking part in the relay were Julian Horsley, Warren Mantle, Marcus Mumford, Alice Walters, Marc Farmer, Laura Bessant, Jason Robbins, Melanie Betts, Alison Robbins, Kirsty McGaul, Helen Seabourne, Julie Cross, David Bessant, Chris Seeney, Ruth Bessant, Zac George, Lindsey Lewis-Painter, George Bessant, Sue Thornley, Colin Lewis-Painter and Steve Wilkes.
