Four-midable Fortis enhance promotion chances

FORTIS boosted their Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Three promotion hopes with a 4-2 home victory over Evesham United Sunday.

The Badsey based side scored through Wallace, Napper, Meynell and Simcox, with the visitors on target through Dipple and Hincks.

Ambi Allsports and visitors Stour Excelsior Reserves drew 2-2, with Murphy and Halford the scorers for Stour and Booth netting twice for Ambi.

In Division Two, braces from Ed Major and Parry helped Sun Inn to a 4-2 victory at Bredon, for whom Mulrenan and Hagley scored.




County cup finalists Harvington defeated visitors Quinton 5-3 despite a Drinkwater treble for the latter as Harvington scored through Philpott (2), Quirke, O’Brien and Reynolds.

In the Evesham Hospital Sunday Minor Cup, Broadway United Reserves reached the last eight with a 6-3 victory at TDMS to leave them still in the hunt for four trophies.


Badsey Recreation upset Division Two leaders and hosts Offenham Rovers 4-2 to reach the semi-finals and they are joined by Bretforton Old Boys Reserves who defeated hosts Pebworth 4-1.

New Inn Pershore are also into the last four after overcoming hosts Cropthorne on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Stour Excelsior defeated visitors Pinvin United 4-1 in Division One through goals from Hince, Harris, Carr and Layton, with Pinvin scoring through Carter.

The Evesham Hospital Sunday Junior Cup final will be between old rivals Evesham WMC and Bretforton Old Boys after the Workies edged past visitors Inkberrow 2-1 whilst Old Boys were 11-0 home winners over Tewkesbury Town.
