LOUISE FOULKES stormed to victory when Broadway Golf Club’s ladies competed in their Queen B Trophy, following the end of the season in their Friendly B Team League.
Fabulous course conditions were enjoyed on the day with fine weather to match whilst ladies played in their individual Stableford contest.
More than 30 ladies have regularly represented the club during the season and have enjoyed the Greensomes, Matchplay format, but there was one lady who shone through as true champion on the day.
Earning the prestigious Queen B title was Foulkes with an outstanding 37 points, leaving Maggie McDivitt to take runner-up position with an impressive 34.
Foulkes was victorious once again in the midweek Stableford as she stormed home with a magnificent 41 points, ensuring her handicap was cut by 2.5 shots. Wendy Hicks took second place with an excellent 36.
BROADWAY’S men were out at the weekend in their final Division One and Two Medal of the season.
On a day when the chill of the east wind was apparent, 50 players were eager to get their last qualifying cards in before the winter season begins.
Despite the wind, the course still played superbly, providing some excellent scoring opportunities.
Division One’s Mike Everitt brought in an outstanding 67 nett to take first place and Paul Evans took second with an impressive 69, which also earned him best gross on the day with 75. Steve Griffin took third place with a commendable 70 nett.
In Division Two, Richard Broadbridge achieved first position with 73 nett, leaving Steve Ramm to take second on countback. Mark Lee earned a deserved third placing with 74 nett.
