RICHARD Ford held off the challenge of 37 other Evesham Jubilee AS members to win the club’s annual Fur and Feather match at the Jubilee fishery last Sunday.
Ford won the match from peg J3, fishing the waggler to weigh in 26lb 6oz.
Colin Perry, on Withies peg 30, took second place with 25lb 12oz,ahead of third-placed Chris Taylor 19lb 1oz.
Martin Smith (17lb 7oz) was fourth, Janice Smith (15lb 10oz) was fifth.
Section winners were Dave Bowditch 15lb 3oz, who also won the Committee Cup; Dave Jones 14lb 3oz; Alan Gardner 12lb 3oz; Doug Smith 10lb 0oz and Nigel Cox 8lb 2oz
Every member won a prize from the club greater than the match fee. The first five anglers won Christmas vouchers followed by five sections winners winning cash prizes. Then the next best placed anglers picked their prize in turn, including anglers that did not weigh in.
