ANDRE Wright scored the only goal as Evesham United moved one point off the top of the table with a 1-0 victory at Tavistock AFC.
Wright scored the winner on 76 minutes at Langsford Park as the Robins secured a fifth straight win in the league.
And the result means Evesham trail leaders Yate Town by one point in the Southern League Division One South table with five matches left to play.
The game’s only goal came on 76 minutes as Aaron Dearing failed to hold Josh Barlow’s driven shot and Wright pounced to finish the rebound from close range.
Evesham are next in action against Exmouth Town on Saturday, April 5 with kick-off at 3pm at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.
