EVESHAM United upstaged Bromsgrove Sporting to reach the Worcestershire Senior Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win against their higher league opponents in midweek.
The Robins play one level below Sporting but proved more than a match for the Southern League Premier Central side as first-half goals from Adam Mace and Jeff Putz sent Evesham into the last four at the Victoria Ground.
Evesham took the lead on 10 minutes when Putz slid a low effort past Sporting goalkeeper Ollie Taylor after he was played through on goal.
And the visitors doubled their lead on 24 minutes when Mace scored from distance to leave the Rouslers stunned.
However, Bromsgrove halved the deficit on 62 minutes when Dan Sweeney stepped up to score from the penalty spot after player-manager Michael McGrath was fouled in the box.
And McGrath then headed against the crossbar as Sporting searched for an equaliser whilst Kyle Belmonte hit the post at the other end for Evesham as the visitors held on to claim a memorable win.
Evesham are next in action away at Hamworthy United on Saturday, January 14 with kick-off at 3pm at the County Ground.
