PERSHORE Town have confirmed manager Danny Janes will leave the club at the end of the season due to personal reasons.

Janes returned to the club for a second spell in charge at the start of the 2024/25 season.

He previously guided the Plums to promotion from Step Six for the first time in 23 years in his first spell in charge.

Janes also won the Hellenic League Supplementary Cup, Worcestershire Senior Cup and the Smedley Crooke Cup prior to securing the Hellenic League Division One title.

He also claimed the Hellenic League Challenge Cup to complete a double in 2022/23 before stepping away from his role at the end of the season.

And Janes will now once again step down from his role due to other commitments outside of football.

Janes guided Pershore to their highest-ever finish at Step Five this season.

The Plums sit seventh in the table having completed all of their league fixtures.

And Pershore still have a Marsh Challenge Cup semi-final to play against Hartpury University later this month.

Janes said: “I leave Pershore Town Football Club with a heavy heart but it is the right decision for me personally.

“I am expecting my first child at the end of August, with teaching and coaching commitments alongside managing a football team, my life and schedule now looks very different.

“I signed a two-year contract with the club and we agreed conditions for those two years. Those conditions have had to change for next season, a decision I completely understand.

“However, the project now looks very different and is one that I feel is a backwards step for myself with regards to my own journey.

“Thank you to everyone at Pershore behind the scenes, from the junior managers, the committee members and the fantastic fans.

“I will always be a supporter of the club and I look forward to seeing the club continue to progress.”

Pershore are now searching for a new manager with anyone interested in the role to send a CV to: [email protected]
