PERSHORE Town endured a night to forget in the Worcestershire Senior Cup after losing 8-2 away at Bromsgrove Sporting.
The Plums found themselves five goals behind at the Victoria Ground before Ben Tilbury and Zaq Hussain scored a pair of consolation goals for the visitors.
And the defeat means Pershore exit the competition at the quarter-final stage.
Managerless Sporting broke the deadlock after just four minutes when Ryan Boothe turned home Reece King’s header at a corner from close range.
And the home side doubled their lead on 16 minutes from another corner as King headed in Luke Rowe’s cross to put the Rouslers in command at the break.
Bromsgrove stretched their lead three minutes into the second period as Rowe placed an accurate header into the bottom left corner from Jamie Meddows’ cross.
A frantic eight-minute period followed with four goals scored as Meddows saw his deflected shot find the net on 50 minutes.
And Meddows scored his second of the game with a free-kick from 20-yards out two minutes later.
Pershore responded on 55 minutes when Tilbury headed a cross from the left into the bottom left corner.
And the Plums struck again three minutes later as Hussain coolly finished through the legs of Sporting goalkeeper Charlie Price.
However, Roberts fired home a rebound on 62 minutes to score Sporting’s sixth goal of the night after the Plums kept out Ethan Patterson’s initial header.
The Rouslers made it seven on 70 minutes as Boothe scored his second of the game with a header from close range.
And Meddows completed the scoring with his hat-trick goal in injury time as he flicked home Carter Lycett’s low cross from the left into the bottom right corner.
Pershore are next in action against Cirencester Town on Saturday, November 16 with kick-off at 3pm at the Corinium Stadium.
