EVESHAM United romped to a convincing 5-0 victory against Larkhall Athletic to return to winning ways.

A brace from Reegan Messenger and further goals from Josh Barlow, Levi Steele and substitute Lewis Middleton helped the Robins to a comfortable win at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.

And the result means Evesham sit second in the Southern League Division One South table, seven points behind leaders Yate Town who have a game in-hand.

Evesham broke the deadlock on 19 minutes when Messenger nodded in a corner from the left from six-yards out.

And the Robins doubled their lead one minute before the break as Barlow volleyed home Steele’s floated cross from the right.

The home side stretched their lead in style on 70 minutes when Messenger lashed a low effort past Adam Forster from 25-yards out.

And Evesham sealed the points six minutes from time as Steele finished from close range at the back post after Larkhall failed to deal with a free-kick from the left.

Middleton completed the scoring on 88 minutes with a cool lob over a stranded Forster from just outside the penalty area.

Evesham are next in action against Helston Athletic on Saturday, March 1 with kick-off at 3pm at Kellaway Park.
