EVESHAM United produced a stirring second-half comeback to thrash Bromsgrove Sporting 5-2 and advance in the FA Cup.
The Robins trailed at the break after Levi Steele put the home side ahead only for Nick Clayton-Phillips and Billy Shaw to turn the game in Sporting’s favour at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.
However, Evesham stunned the Rouslers with three goals in the space of nine second-half minutes as Reegan Messenger scored a brace while Andre Wright also found the net.
And Lewis Middleton added a late fifth goal for the home side to book Evesham’s place in second round qualifying with the draw to take place on Monday, September 1 at 1pm.
Both Evesham and Sporting play at Step Three with the Rouslers plying their trade in the Southern League Premier Central.
And the home side broke the deadlock on 18 minutes when Steele found the bottom left corner from inside the penalty area.
However, the Rouslers equalised on 29 minutes as Clayton-Phillips curled a shot into the top corner from 20-yards out.
And Bromsgrove completed the turnaround three minutes later when Shaw finished through the legs of Jenson Kilroy after the Evesham stopper kept out Kobe Hall’s initial effort.
However, Messenger drew the Robins level on 54 minutes when he forced the ball home following a scramble in the box after Sporting failed to deal with a corner from the right.
And Evesham reclaimed the lead two minutes later the ball broke kindly to Messenger in the box and the Robins man scored his second of the game.
The hosts extended their lead on 63 minutes as Wright turned a defender inside out before lashing a shot past Adam Harrison at his near post.
And the home side completed the scoring one minute from time when Ethan Dunbar squared the ball to substitute Middleton who finished into an empty net.
Evesham are next in action against Walton and Hersham on Saturday, September 6 with kick-off at 3pm at Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub.
