EVESHAM United played out successive draws with Gloucester City and Poole Town over the bank holiday weekend.

The Robins came from behind to draw 1-1 with Gloucester as Andre Wright cancelled out Sion Spence’s opener at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.

That came after Evesham drew 1-1 at Poole’s BlackGold Stadium with Wright again on target after Shaquille Gwengwe’s penalty put the home side ahead.

The results mean Evesham sit 13th in the Southern League Premier South table.

Evesham fell behind against Gloucester after just 10 minutes as Spence curled a shot into the net from Joe Hanks’ drilled cross.

However, the Robins equalised on 65 minutes as Wright pounced on Keiran Thomas’s loose pass and found the net.

That came after Evesham played out another stalemate with Poole.

Poole took the lead from the penalty spot on 71 minutes as Gwengwe drew a foul in the box and picked himself up to score from 12-yards out.

However, Evesham drew level just one minute later when Wright fired a free-kick into the net from the edge of the penalty area.

Evesham are next in action against Bromsgrove Sporting in the FA Cup on Saturday, August 30 with kick-off at 3pm at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.
