REEGAN Messenger scored the only goal as Evesham United battled to a 1-0 victory away at Willand Rovers.
Messenger headed home on 32 minutes to earn the Robins the points at Silver Street with the visitors now unbeaten in their last six matches.
And the result means Evesham sit third in the Southern League Division One South table, nine points behind leaders Yate Town.
The game’s decisive moment came just past the half-hour mark when Rhys Bennett saw his free-kick blocked before looping a ball into the penalty area as Messenger rose highest to force a header past George Burton via the aid of the post.
Evesham are next in action against Cinderford Town on Tuesday, February 4 with kick-off at 7.45pm at The Causeway.
