Fladbury reach Bluck Cup quarter-finals

Evesham Editorial 29th Oct, 2019   0

ONLY five Evesham Sunday League games survived the heavy rainfall over the weekend and among the beneficiaries were Fladbury who became the first team to reach the last eight of the Bluck Cup with a comfortable 5-1 win over TDMS Evesham.

The home side hit four first half goals and never looked back as Jake Jordan (2), Max Ferriday, Harry Ingles and Matt Taylor netted for the home team and Tom Dixon pulled one back for TDMS.

Drakes Broughton edged past Stour Excelsior Reserves to reach the Evesham Mechanical Services KO Cup quarter-finals with a 4-3 victory.

Bill Hemming (2), Matt Greenwood and Steve Ward scored for Rangers and the Shipston side replied with goals from Nick Walker, Nick Shurmer and Andy Coyne.

In Division One, Evesham WMC returned from Alderton with the three points after a 7-2 success in which Sean Cooke netted five for the Workies and there was a double for Elliott Grady. Matt Greaves was on target for Alderton.

There were mixed fortunes for Evesham league sides in the WFA Sunday Premier Cup as Bretforton Old Boys produced an excellent performance to defeat Worcester Premier outfit Perrywood 4-1 with goals from Rob Sone, Ryan Reeves, Harry Jacobs and Jamie Clarke.

However, Offenham Rovers lost 3-1 at home to Worcester Athletic. TDMS Harvington received a walkover but Broadway United were unable to raise a team and thus conceded their tie.
