SOME very exciting matches took place when Litttleton Bowling Club held their finals over the Bank Holiday weekend.

In the Secretary’s Cup John Martin was holding the three shots he needed to win the game but Mike Emms with the last bowl of the scheduled game drew in to give him the one shot he needed to prevail.

In the Ladies’ Singles Chris Winnett was 18-10 down against Sue Heming but over the next four ends managed to draw level and it was 20-20 with one end to play.

Heming was holding the shot she needed to win the game but Winnett managed to rest out the shot which gave her victory.

John Martin played Graham Norledge in the George Cole Cup and the scoreline was all square at 15-15 at 18 ends before Martin scored five over the next two ends to give him an unassailable lead.

In the Mixed Pairs competition Angela Roberts with Mike Emms led from the start to give them a convincing win over Sue Cleaver and Graham Corbett.

In the only other game to be played over the weekend, Roger Cooke overcame the challenge of Tony Ruff 21-15 in the Maiden’s Cup.

Littleton Bowling Club will be holding an open session on Saturday, October 8 between 2-4pm when you can come and try the game on the club’s indoor rinks.

The sessions will be fun-based but numbers will be restricted so register your interest as soon as possible with John on 01386 830174 or Dave on 01386 832421.
