OLIVER FARRELL was crowned Evesham Golf Club’s men’s champion as he secured victory in the annual Club Championships at a warm and breezy Craycombe Links course.
It was no surprise England international Farrell was victorious as the 18-year-old from Drakes Broughton secured the title with an excellent score of 142 after his two rounds.
Barry Saggers claimed the runner-up spot with a combined score of 163.
The competition was doubled with a best nett prize for the Frank Swan Trophy and this proved to be a much tighter affair in which Steve Protherough came out on top with a nett 141 off his handicap of five, edging out Paul Sharp (11) by one shot.
