EVESHAM brother and sister Brett and Jasmine Cordelle enjoyed notable success at the Auto-Cycle Union Dragbike Championships at Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire.
The duo, part of the Hysteria Racing family motorcycle dragbike team based in the Vale, both finished second in their respective classes to move each up to third in the National Championships with one round to go.
After a poor start to the Saturday qualifying session in which Jasmine’s bike did not run consistently and Brett’s machine suffered a destroyed clutch on the very first run, these were fine results.
A frantic repair session in between qualifying rounds by their father and crew chief Phil ensured both bikes were back on song, resulting in the pair each qualifying in second place.
The siblings then raced in impressive fashion to earn great results considering all the circumstances.
Brett, a local construction ground worker, and Jasmine, an engineer for Yamazaki Mazak, started racing when they were at Church Lench CE First School and have won numerous club and national championships.
