EVESHAM Vale Triathletes Lindsey Lewis-Painter and John Peacock are all smiles after qualifying to represent Great Britain at the World Duathlon Championships in Spain in April 2019.

The qualifying event was held at the famous motorsport circuit at Oulton Park in Cheshire and Lewis-Painter took on the sprint race which comprised of a 4.3km run, 21km bike and another 4.3km run.

She secured qualification in third place for her age group – great reward for the training she has put in – having started to incorporate additional training to complement her existing routine by joining Lift UP Gym in Blackminster.

Peacock raced the standard distance which is double the sprint distance and his time of 2hrs, 9mins placed him in second position for his age group, also guaranteeing a GB place.

The duo’s EVT team-mate Lee Ross completed the standard race in a time of 1hr, 53mins. He was 11th in the 35 to 39-year-old age category.
