WITH their rivals involved in cup ties, Evesham WMC took advantage to move three points clear at the top of Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division One as they came from behind to win 3-2 at Pinvin United.

Wall and Izod scored for Pinvin, whilst the Workies netted through Bradley Izod, Scrivens and an own goal.

In the Evesham Hospital Sunday Junior Cup quarter-finals, Inkberrow defeated hosts Mickleton Rangers on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Tewkesbury Town pulled off a surprise by knocking out visitors Broadway United on penalties after a goalless draw, whilst Jamie Clarke scored four goals for Bretforton Old Boys as they eased past visitors Stour Excelsior 6-1.




Stratford United moved second in Division Three thanks to a 7-1 home win against Bengeworth through goals from Beasley (2), Davis (2), Drake, Spilsbury and Hawkins. Mason-Brown scored for Bengeworth.

TDMS picked up an excellent point with a 2-2 draw at Stour Excelsior Reserves in which Gregg and Coyne scored for the home team and the high school side netted through McGarr and Jones.


Evesham United Sunday defeated basement club and hosts Avon Titans 7-2 thanks to goals from Tom Hincks (2), Mellings (2), Saunders, Alright and Jack Hincks. Titans struck through Deakin and Cox.

In the remaining Evesham Hospital Sunday Minor Cup first round match, Broadway United Reserves continued their excellent season with a 5-4 victory at higher graded Sun Inn.

In the second round matches, Badsey Recreation won on penalties at Alderton after a 2-2 draw and Boother scored all four of Cropthorne’s goals as they won 4-0 at home to Ambi Allsports.

Pebworth accounted for higher ranked hosts Dragons 2-1 and Bretforton Old Boys Reserves did likewise as they won 3-1 at Quinton.

Much-fancied New Inn Pershore hit eight without reply at Fortis, whilst four goals from Nick Burrows helped Offenham Rovers progress 6-0 at Ashton 88. Charlton Old Boys defeated visitors Harvington 3-1.
