Evesham United Colts U13s triumph in first final

EVESHAM United Colts U13s are celebrating after netting the Ambassador Evesham Football League Cup thanks to a 2-0 victory over Littleton in Saturday’s final at Pershore Town.

In their first ever appearance in a final, Evesham created most of the chances in the first half which finished goalless.

However, early in the second half Evesham were awarded a penalty which was coolly slotted home by Hayden Buttle and victory was sealed five minutes from time when Tom Francis scored with a glancing header.

In the words of an under 13 parent in respect of the late Dave Giles, who ran the Robins’ junior section for years: “I’m pretty sure there’s a little Welsh guy with a limp out there somewhere wearing a baseball cap, Evesham United rain jacket and big smile.”
