Evesham teenager becomes double Racketlon world champion

EVESHAM’S Bethany Pye won double gold for Great Britain at the Racketlon World Championships held in Vienna, Austria.

Beth triumphed in the under-18 Girls Singles and under-16 Girls Doubles events to become a double Racketlon world champion.

Racketlon is a combination sport in which competitors play a sequence of racket sports – table tennis, badminton, squash and tennis.

Each sport is played to a total of 21 points and the player with the most cumulative points at the end of all four matches is the winner.

Beth would really like to maintain her title next year and is looking for any local companies who would be interested in sponsoring her.

She has just left Prince Henry’s High School in Evesham, having completed her GCSE’s, and has been offered a place at Hartpury College where she is set to undertake a Sports Diploma.
