THE BIRDSEYE Sports Evesham Sunday League begins on Sunday when players will face a new dissent rule.
The league is part of the FA Pilot Sinbin scheme and is one of 32 leagues nationally at grassroots level and the only adult league in Worcestershire to be part of the scheme.
In an attempt to address the ongoing problems of dissent towards match officials at this level, the FA are piloting the scheme.
League Secretary Martin Malin has appeared on local radio answering questions and all clubs and referees have been briefed in advance.
When a referee deems any dissent from a player warrants a yellow card, the player will leave the field of play for ten minutes of actual play and no substitute is allowed to take his place.
Should the same player warrant a further yellow card for dissent, he will again leave the field of play unable to return, but a substitute can take his place.
It is important to state, this is for dissent offences only.
The league is proud to have been chosen as the county’s league for the scheme and followers can keep up to date online with results and fixtures on the FA Full Time website.
