Evesham move into pole position

Evesham Editorial 17th Mar, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

EVESHAM’S Midlands Three West (South) promotion hopes are firmly in their own hands after a brace of tries from Josh Sands helped propel them to an important bonus point win at Woodrush on Saturday.

The 36-16 victory has moved Evesham to the top of the pile, four points clear of second and third placed Southam and Rugby Lions with four matches remaining, the first of which is Saturday’s visit of bottom side Pershore.

Wilf Watson and Stu Smart also crossed the whitewash for Evesham, whose captain Nathan Chambers said: “It is all in our hands to push on and win back-to-back promotions and potentially win the league title itself.

“This weekend sees Pershore visit Blind Lane for a local derby. Continued support is hugely appreciated as the young side push on in what has been an incredible year so far.”
