PROMOTED Evesham gave a good account of themselves but were eventually overpowered by Worcestershire rivals Malvern in Saturday’s Midlands Two West (South) opener.
The Avonsiders, on the back of two successive promotions, showed they will be more than capable of competing at this level in the 39-17 home defeat, although there is work to be done.
Evesham return to league action at Nuneaton Old Edwardians on September 23, but before that visit Midlands Two West (North) outfit Ludlow in a Midlands Intermediate Cup first round tie on Saturday.
