THERE was an excellent turnout of 30 members for Evesham Jubilee Angling Society’s Easter Egg match on the Jubilee and Withies pools on Saturday.
The Jubilee pool fished better than the Withies as the former featured the top four places.
The match produced a close finish between Chris Taylor and Mark Birbeck who, both on good pegs, caught well, with Taylor running out the winner by just 2oz.
Results: 1st Chris Taylor (J8, 37lb 12oz); 2nd Mark Birbeck (J18, 37lb 10oz); 3rd Ron Evans (J31, 30lb 3oz); 4th Doug Smith (J14, 29lb 3oz).
Section winners were Tony Hemming with the top weight off the Withies pool (peg 25, 23lb 11oz), Barry Blewett (J6, 23lb), Rob Butcher (J25, 20lb) and Dave Bowditch (W18, 14lb 10oz).
