DURING a very welcome break in this wet spring weather, The Vale Golf Club seniors held their first board competition of the year in three divisions.
Scoring was very high considering the fairways are still recovering from the constant rain they have been subjected to over the beginning of the year.
Division One winner was Gerry Clayton with 33 points, followed by Brian Brumhead and Mike Roberts who both scored 31 points, with Brumhead finishing second on countback.
Division Two winner on countback was Mike Heard from Patrick Staines – both with 35 points – and third was John Nutman on 33 points.
Division Three victor and recipient of the Bill Kelly Cup for 2018 was Adrian Duggan with a tremendous total of 36 points, followed by Jeff Peace and Peter Morris both with 32 points, with Peace second on countback.
