Drinkwaters star as Quinton return to the summit

QUINTON returned to the top of Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division Three thanks to a comfortable 8-0 win over visitors Fortis in which James and Tom Drinkwater both netted hat-tricks and Dyde and Brocklehurst also scored.

Elsewhere, Dolce (3) and Davies (2) scored for Stratford United in their 5-3 home win over Ambi Allsports, for whom Woods (2) and Booth were on the mark.

Ashton and visitors Bengeworth drew 1-1 as Giles’ first half goal for Bengeworth was cancelled out in the second half by Begley’s equaliser.

Alderton march on at the top of Division Two after top scorer Greaves netted twice and further goals from Porter, Parker and Bowles ensured a 5-2 home victory over Evesham United, who scored through Sones and an own goal.




Mickleton Rangers maintained their promotion hopes with a 4-0 home win over Broadway United Reserves thanks to strikes from Mills (2), Beech and Robinson.

Cropthorne overcame visitors Badsey Recreation 4-2 with goals from Dean, Letterse, Perks and Boother, despite Badsey scoring through Trotman and Attwood.


In Division One, Broadway United hit six without reply at Bredon as Jason Horsburgh scored a hat-trick and Craig, Mark Horsburgh and Hopkins were also on the mark.

Evesham WMC edged out hosts Inkberrow 3-2 thanks to goals from Brain (2) and Grady for the Workies which meant Sheen and Walker goals for the home side went unrewarded.

Bretforton Old Boys reached the last four of the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup in emphatic style as they cruised to a 10-0 success at Jackson Fairfield through strikes from Jamie Clarke (5), Steve Brown (3), Beattie and Gayton.
