FOUR further Wychavon Parish Games finals have now taken place and Bretforton had plenty to smile about after two victories.
The final of the men’s darts, sponsored by Pete Bott Skips, took place on Sunday between Bretforton and Pinvin.
Bretforton won the first two legs, but Pinvin pulled it back to level the match at 2-2 and, after a hard fought fifth leg, Bretforton emerged as winners for the second year running.
Bretforton and Pinvin met again on Tuesday in the final of the dominoes, sponsored by Glassier Windows, and again Bretforton took the lead in the first round of matches.
Pinvin again levelled the score after the second round, but Bretforton again proved too good in final leg and won 6-3 overall.
On Tuesday the final of the pool, sponsored by Kanes Foods, took place, between Hill & Moor and Inkberrow.
This again was a very close game in which the lead frequently changed hands and everything depended on the result of the final game, which Inkberrow won, so overall they triumphed by three games to two.
The skittles, sponsored by Worcester Produce, took place between Badsey & Aldington and Wick.
Wick led after the first leg, but Badsey & Aldington then came back to lead by 20 points at the end of the penultimate leg.
However, Wick continued to battle and brought the deficit back to nine, but there was no way back and this means Badsey & Aldington have now won this event for the last three years.
The last final – the crib, sponsored by Broadway Parish Council – was due to take place yesterday (Thursday) at Broadway Bowling Club between Pebworth and Bretforton.
The presentation evening takes place at Lower Moor Village Hall on Thursday, November 26 at 7.30pm and it will be attended by the chairman of Wychavon District Council.
