Davis strike guides Offenham Rovers to impressive cup win

OFFENHAM Rovers upset highly-fancied Inkberrow in the PURR Services Knockout Cup first round as a Stuart Davis goal proved enough to divide the teams and see Rovers progress with a 1-0 success.

Bretforton Old Boys maintained their perfect start in Evesham Sunday League Division One as Jamie Clarke (2), Sam Beddoes (2) and Ryan Reeves scored in a 5-2 victory at New Inn Pershore, for whom Kyle Ballard and Jordan Greenham netted.

Mickleton Rangers narrowly defeated Alderman United 3-2 through goals from George Lewis (2) and Jack Sexton. Alderman scored through Faisal Wahid and Gareth Peacey.

TDMS Harvington picked up a valuable three points with a 6-1 victory at Alderton in which George Hartshorne scored for the home team and Harvington prevailed through Luke Woodfield (2), Ryan Attwood (2), Dan Kinnersley and Connor Hensey.




In Division Two, Stour Excelsior hit form with a convincing 5-1 win at Drakes Broughton Rangers as the Shipston side’s goals came from Robbie Shurmer (2), Ed Caswell, Oscar Hair and Nick Walker.

Harvington Harriers won 3-1 at Broadway Athletic thanks to Charlie Smith, Mark Onens and Christian Lewis goals, whilst Daniel Moore netted for Athletic.


Max Ferriday, Jack McCracken, Cameron Dickenson, Henry Ingles and Cavan Jason-Ryan scored to maintain Fladbury’s excellent start to the season in a 5-2 triumph at TDMS Evesham, for whom Tom Dixon and Lewis O’Loughlin scored.

Bear won a high-scoring encounter with Broadway United 5-3 thanks to goals from Dominic McElroy, Ryan Caddock, Jamie Harrison and Connor Sherry, with United’s goals coming from Liam Berryman, Charlie Stock and Alex Robinson.

Stratford HGC and Ashton 88 drew 1-1, with Jay Tilbury scoring for Stratford and Josh Keen on the mark for Ashton.

Bidford Juniors’ unbeaten start in Division Three came to an abrupt end as they were beaten 7-0 at Asum Athletic whose goals came from Callum Mason (2), Aiden Booth, Conor Corr, Alex Lane, Jake Gray and Rob Burford.

Ryan Dixon (2), Jonathan Wallace and Mark Buttle scored for in-form Fortis in their 4-2 victory against Tewkesbury Athletic, whilst Ashton 88 Reserves defeated Dragons 1-0.

Pacey Clifford and Alex Gregg scored for Stour Excelsior Reserves in their 2-1 win over Titans, for whom Matt Deakin scored.

Bredon and Vale United drew 2-2, with Jordan Huggins and Matt Tarling netting for Bredon and Paul Law firing a double for Vale.
