Cropthorne and Stour Excelsior reach Evesham Mechanical Service KO Cup quarter-finals

CROPTHORNE and Stour Exceslior both booked their places in the last eight of the Evesham Mechanical Services KO Cup after four-goal displays.

Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Divison Two side Cropthorne swept aside Division Three Ambi Allsports 4-0, with goals from Boother, Barton, Borton and Taylor.

Stour Excelsior also hit four, defeating TDMS Harvington 4-1 after Drinkwater (2), Clarke and Harris scored for the Shipston side. Woodfield netted for TDMS.

Broadway United stay top of Division One with a narrow 2-1 win over Mickleton Rangers, thanks to a double from Richard Craig, while Bretforton Old Boys maintained their perfect start with a 5-1 victory at Inkberrow.




The Old Boys goals came from Brain (2), Gayton (2) and Davis.

Eliot Grady hit a treble for Evesham WMC at Offenham Rovers in a 4-2 win to earn a much-needed three points for the Workies, while Tewkesbury Town were also among the goal in an excellent 7-3 win at New Inn Pershore, Bloom (3), Butler (3) and Keen netted for Town with the home side replying through Rogers (2) and Rushden.


The clash between the top two met in Division Two ended with honours even as Bretforton Old Boys Reserves and Broadway United Reserves played out a goalless draw

Charlton Fladbury hit Sun Inn for six with goals from Green (4), Clarke and Griffin earning a 6-1 win while Badsey Recreation came from behind to win 6-2 at struggling Bredon.

Hagley and Kinmond scored for the home team, but goals from Robinson (2), Wilson, Reeves, Conway and Davis helped Badsey take the points.

Fortis came out on top 4-3 at Alderton.

In Division Three, Stratford HGC hit six without reply at Fairfield Titans, the goals coming from Clifford (2), Spilsbury (2), Watkins and Rooney.

Pebworth scored five times to win 5-1 at Bengeworth with goals from Benfield (3), Chapman and Keen, and it was the same scoreline at Ashton 88 as visitors Stour Excelsior Reserves took the points. Walker (3), Johnson and Grace scored for Stour, Draper hit a consolation goal for Ashton.

Alcester Town edged out Dragons 2-1 whilst Strawberry Field United and TDMS Evesham shared six goals, Wallace (2) and Ballard were on target for the pub side with Cook (2) and Rogers replying.
