WORCESTERSHIRE Gymnastics Academy members turned on the style to win medals galore at Dudley’s first invitational competition.
There were some very impressive routines by the whole squad. The first group of 20 gymnasts competed on vault, beam and floor and produced quite possibly their best routines to date.
The squad won two overall golds and a further 21 medals on the other pieces.
The county gymnasts were in for the day so, when the academy’s second group of 11 gymnasts competed, they were all ready to show their routines off after seeing how well the earlier squad members had performed.
The gymnasts competed on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor and after a long day they gained two overall golds and a further 20 medals on the other pieces.
Senior squad coach Paul Braathen said: “This was a great day and much enjoyed by the coaches and parents, with all 31 gymnasts performing outstandingly.”
