PERSHORE are one of five sides level on 45 points at the top of Birmingham League Division Two following Saturday’s four-wicket victory over Attock.
The Plums’ second successive win was a tense affair but the successful 20-point outcome leaves them very handily placed heading into Saturday’s visit to Wombourne.
In a hard-fought encounter at The Bottoms, Attock set a par score of 210 all out. Pick of the Pershore bowlers were Luke Dalley (2-30 off ten) and George Kirby (2-37 off ten).
In response, Pershore were indebted to their captain Chris Ridings who scored a sublime 72, including seven fours and two sixes.
In a rich vein of form having scored 69 in the previous weekend’s victory, Ridings featured in a match-winning partnership of 102 with Chris Miles, who chipped in with 44.
Unbeaten Pershore did lose some late wickets to set up a tight finish but managed to reach 212-6 in the penultimate over.
