EVESHAM-based Power Maxed Racing claimed an impressive double podium finish in the latest round of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) at Oulton Park.

Power Maxed Racing drivers Mikey Doble and Aron Taylor-Smith finished second and third respectively with the former leading for most of the reverse grid race.

However, BTCC leader Jake Hill overtook Doble on the last lap as the former’s pressure eventually told when the two drivers went side-by-side and went through the chicane together.

Doble and Hill touched slightly as the latter emerged ahead and held on to claim the win with Doble second and Taylor-Smith completing the podium.

That came after Doble placed 11th in race one with Taylor-Smith seventh while the former finished sixth in race two with the latter fifth.

The results mean Taylor-Smith sits seventh in the drivers’ standings on 107 points with Doble further back in 13th on 88 points.

And Power Maxed Racing sit fifth in the teams standings on 220 points and top of the independent standings on 300 points.

Taylor-Smith remains top of the independent drivers standings on 279 points with Doble just behind on 266 points.

The next round of the BTCC takes place at Croft Circuit on the weekend of July 27 and 28.
