BROADWAY United Reserves have made Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League history by becoming the first reserve team to reach the Knockout Cup final.

The Division Three outfit reached their second cup final of the season with a narrow 4-3 win at New Inn Pershore.

Ballard (2) and Brant scored for New Inn but Broadway won through with goals from Berryman, Steele, Clark and Burtenshaw.

Cropthorne reached the last four of the Express-Funding Mick Godwin Cup by defeating hosts Stratford United in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in which Waldron gave Stratford the lead before a Boother header five minutes from time levelled matters.

Evesham WMC’s Division One title hopes all but ended with a 2-2 draw at Broadway United in which Aspey and Evans scored for the home team and Scrivens and Penfold were on target for the Workies.

Inkberrow were unable to raise a team against Cider Mill and the points went to the scheduled visitors.

Offenham Rovers moved a step closer to promotion from Division Two with a 4-1 home victory over Harvington in which Burrows (2), Smith and Szymanski scored for Rovers and Handy netted for Harvington.

Sun Inn’s slim promotion hopes remain alive after defeating visitors Badsey Recreation 4-1 through goals from Ed Major (2), Parry and Moore. Attwood scored for Badsey Rec.

Alderton and visitors Charlton Old Boys drew 1-1 as Tryner scored for the hosts and Petersen did likewise for Old Boys.

A brace from Hancox kept Fortis top of Division Three with a 2-0 home victory over neighbours Pebworth.

Bretforton Old Boys Reserves remain second – a point behind with two games in hand – following a 5-0 home win over Bengeworth through goals from Stride (2), Booth (2) and Harris.

TDMS hit eight without reply at Avon Titans as the goals came from Curtis (3), Jones (2), Rogers, Remekie and Howard-Nailor, whilst Graham Begley scored twice and Lawrence also netted to guide Ashton 88 to a 3-1 success over visitors Ambi Allsports, for whom Turner scored.
