Broadway United impress in sinking promotion-chasers

DIVISION Two outfit Broadway United produced their best performance of the Evesham & District Sunday League season to defeat promotion-chasing Fladbury 4-1 through Max Tarry, Harrison Parker, Sam Goodhall and Jack Steele goals, with Max Ferriday on target for Fladbury.

Ashton 88 and Harvington Harriers drew 3-3 in an entertaining game in which Jonathan Cother (2) and Kieran James scored for Ashton and Harriers’ goals came from Nathan Lewis, Christian Lewis and Harrison Middleton.

Drakes Broughton Rangers and Bear FC drew 1-1, with Aneesh Bhatt scoring for Rangers.

In Division Three, Fortis boosted their promotion push by narrowly defeating neighbours Titans 2-1 as Jonathan Wallace and Matthew Meynell scored for Fortis and Steven Vizor netted for Titans.

Bredon maintained their recent good form with a 2-1 victory at Ashton 88 Reserves thanks to goals from Ben Hayward and Jordan Huggins, with Oliver Godfrey netting for Ashton.

Tewkesbury Athletic defeated Dragons 4-1 as Jimmy Croft fired home a hat-trick.

Inkberrow dropped valuable points in their chase for the Division One title as they were held 1-1 at Offenham Rovers. Harry Smith gave Rovers an interval lead before Grey Guy equalised for the visitors.

Alderman United have withdrawn from Division One due to lack of player commitment, whilst TDMS Harvington and Mickleton Rangers are unable to raise teams in the current tier system, so therefore the division takes a break until January 31.

The rest of the league is due to resume on January 10 following the festive break.
