FREEZING fog was forecast but Broadway Golf Club’s ladies were pleasantly surprised when they turned out to compete in their 3-Ball Alliance.
In fine conditions, winter greens were in play, so precision putting was a little more tricky than usual.
However, with the rest of the course still playing superbly, all competitors were able to get out and enjoy their game, accumulating two scores on each of the nine holes played.
A superb score of 42 points clinched first place for Barb Buggin, Louise Folkes and Bev Howard, whilst runners-up were Margaret Tucker, Barbara Crew and Irene Hawkes with 39.
Lady captain Brenda Corfield, Jude Vidler and Chris Saunders were third with 38 and Julia Fortescue, Rachel Rigg and Jenny Brotherton finished fourth on 37.
