EVESHAM Golf Club welcomed ladies from many surrounding clubs to play in the Open AM/AM.
The 24 ladies who played in the morning had to tackle the heavy rain that was expected but it had cleared by late morning so the 44 ladies who played in the afternoon enjoyed sunny conditions, albeit with more wind.
Teams had entered from clubs including Puckrup, Ravenmeadow, The Worcestershire, Leominster and Broadway and the format was Stableford with the best two scores to count, playing off 90 per cent of handicap.
Some good scores came in and the guests from Broadway Golf Club emerged winners for the second year in a row.
Results: 1st – Louise Folkes, Irene Hawkes, Barbara Buggins, Jan Titley (Broadway, 85 points); 2nd – Eunice Allen, Marlene Billings, Penny Osborne (Evesham) and Elaine Boscott (Stratford Oaks, 81); 3rd – Glynne Hall, Gill Boase, Lesley Turbot, Carol Gardner (Leominster, 80).
