THE FINAL day of the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League season saw Bretforton Old Boys lift the Division One title after an excellent attacking performance secured a 9-3 victory over visitors Pinvin United in their winner-takes-all match.

The game was played in front of a large crowd and saw both teams play open football, with Bretforton producing some clinical finishing in front of goal as Will Gayton (4), Jamie Clarke (3), Brain and Richardson scored for Old Boys. Pinvin registered through Rivers, Bellamy and Bulford.

Bear completed an excellent season by finishing third as goals from Keen, Cloke and Davis secured a 3-1 home victory against Fladbury Athletic, for whom Wood scored.

Honeybourne Gate Inn ended their league tenure with a 2-2 draw at Broadway United in which Mills and Rainey scored for Honeybourne and Burtenshaw and Jason Horsburgh netted for the home side.

Eckington powered to a 17-1 victory at Evesham WMC.

Stour Excelsior completed a league and cup double in the space of three days.

Last Friday evening they lifted the Express-Funding Mick Godwin Cup after a 2-0 victory over treble-chasing Alcester Town as two goals early in the second half from Carr and Shurmer respectively proved enough for the Shipston side.

Then on Sunday they earned the point that gave them the Division Two title on goal difference over WMK.

Opponents AC Olympia led through a Reid effort before a second half Dunsbee strike earned visitors Stour the required point in a 1-1 draw.

Ecosamba finished third in Division Three following a 5-1 home victory over champions Alcester Town in which Barton scored a hat-trick and Robey and Curnock also netted, whilst Bryan scored for Alcester.

The final Division Four match saw Fortis defeat visitors Ambi Allsports 5-1 with goals from Leyden (2), Hawkins, Rushden and Dartnell. Phipps was the lone marksman for Allsports.
