Bretforton sides book last four places

BOTH Bretforton teams have reached the last four of the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup.

Holders Old Boys won 2-0 at Broadway United with goals from James Schembri and Ryan Reeves, while Sports Club defeated Mickleton Rangers 5-1 through strikes from Matt Staley, Rob Harris, Will Gayton, Jack Wood and Luke Smith-Daniel. Rangers’ goal came from Chris Mills.

New Inn Pershore defeated Evesham WMC on penalties after a 2-2 draw in which Elliott Grady scored twice for the Workies and Zach Brant and Josh Smith netted for New Inn.

In the outstanding first round tie, a Matt Tarling double gave Tewkesbury Town a 2-0 victory over Offenham Rovers.




The quarter-finals of the Evesham Hospital Minor Cup were played and Fladbury progressed by defeating Dragons 3-1 as Will Green (2) and Ryan Griffin scored for Fladbury and Alex Lane was on target for Dragons.

Stratford HGC upset Division Two leaders Alderton 2-0 and TDMS Harvington accounted for Vale United 5-0 with goals from Luke Woodfield (2), Jack Philpott, Alex Gretton and Carl Wallace.


Pebworth and Ashton 88 shared four goals, with Tom Benfield and Adam Willington scoring for Pebworth and Jack Fisher and Lewis Carter netting for Ashton, who went on to win the penalty shoot-out.

In Division One, Inkberrow defeated Stour Excelsior 2-0 with goals from Liam Firkin and Alex Bullock and in Division Two Badsey Recreation saw off tenants Fortis 4-2 as Stuart McDerby (2), Adam Keen and Stuart Davis scored for Badsey and Paul Macfarlane and Jordan Hemming replied for Fortis.

Fairfield Titans earned a point in Division Three as they drew 2-2 at Ambi Allsports thanks to goals from Sam Cook and Steven Vizor. Will Johns scored twice for Ambi.

Stour Excelsior Reserves defeated Bredon 2-0 through goals from Sam Johnson and Nick Shurmer, while Strawberry Field United cruised to a 13-0 success at Bengeworth as Connor Sherry (5), Matt Magee (3), Daryl Ballard (2), Callum Mason, Kieran Downey and Jake Maisey did the damage.
