Bredon secure welcome cup victory

EVESHAM Sunday League Division Three strugglers Bredon enjoyed some welcome relief as they progressed into the second round of the Bluck Cup with an 8-0 victory over Bengeworth in which Phil Shepherd (3), Ben Hayward (2), Stephen Higdon, Jacob Denton and James Driscoll scored for the village team.

Cropthorne progressed 4-1 at the expense of Fortis as Oliver Clayton (2), John Boother and Dan Hibberd scored for Cropthorne and Ian Hawkins replied for Fortis.

Cameron Dickenson was amongst the scorers for Fladbury in an excellent 3-2 win over Ashton 88, for whom Adam Jenkins and Patrick Lawrence netted.

Bretforton Old Boys stay top of Division One following a hard-fought 3-2 win against Stour Excelsior in which Sam Beddoes (2) and Robbie Sone scored for Old Boys and the Shipston side struck through Ed Caswell and Neil Wilson.




Bretforton Sports Club are second ahead of this weekend’s derby after goals from Luke Smith-Daniel and Tim Beattie proved enough to sink Tewkesbury Town 2-0.

Chris Mills bagged all four goals for Mickleton Rangers in their 4-0 win against Offenham Rovers which left the latter still seeking their first point of the season.


Broadway United and New Inn Pershore drew 2-2 as Jack Hughes and Josh Smith scored for New Inn.

Alderton picked up three Division Two points with a 2-1 victory over Pebworth in which James Ellis and Lee Bowles scored for Alderton and Matthew Rose netted for Pebworth, whilst Badsey Recreation and TDMS Evesham drew 1-1 as Ryan Attwood was on target for Badsey and Ben Cole likewise for TDMS.

Stratford HGC stay top of Division Three despite being held to a 6-6 draw by Vale United. Paul Law scored four for Vale, with further goals from Lee Foxall and Graham Westmacott, whilst Chris Dolce and Kyle Nicholls both scored twice for Stratford and George Spillsbury and Sam Jalowiecki also netted.

Stour Excelsior Reserves are second after goals from Sam Johnson (4), Paul Jewett, Alex Gregg and Tom Brace sealed an 8-3 success against Ambi Allsports, for whom Aiden Booth (2) and Will Johns struck.

Alcester Town won 2-1 against Dragons, for whom Scott Danby found the net, whilst Strawberry Field United were made to work for the three points against Fairfield Titans, eventually winning 3-1 through goals from Matt Magee (2) and Dan Romero-Booker, with Nathan Hodgkins netting for Titans.
