ASTON Somerville Bowls Club celebrated its centenary year by playing three specially-arranged games to mark the occasion.
The club played matches against Bowls England, Worcestershire Bowling Association and The Barbarians.
The games took place in warm and sunny conditions.
Bowls England vice president, Paul Green, led a ‘celebration’ side which featured players from eight counties across the country.
The Barbarians were led by their president, secretary and other officers with many of the players travelling up from Wales as well as other parts of the country.
All of the games took place in the spirit of celebration with the visiting side’s winning all three matches.
Aston Somerville planned the games 18 months in advance and have more events planned for later in the season.
