BADSEY RECREATION reached the quarter-finals of the Evesham Mechanical Services Knockout Cup with an excellent 5-2 win at fellow Birdseye Sports ESL Division Two side Sun Inn.

Ed Major scored twice for the Winchcombe side but Badsey hit five of their own through Benfield (3), Smith and Robinson.

Cropthorne progressed into the second round of the Express-Funding Mick Godwin Cup with a 6-1 victory at Pebworth through goals from Adam Barton (2), Tom Barton, Crenan, Tom Boother and John Boother.

Bretforton Old Boys moved to the top of Division One with a 6-3 victory at Evesham WMC as Cooke (3), Schembri (2) and Richardson struck for the visitors.




The Workies scored three second half goals through Jervis, Iorns and Scott but it could not prevent them dropping to second place on goal difference.

Third placed Broadway United sit two points adrift after being held 2-2 at home by Inkberrow. Jason Horsburgh scored twice for Broadway and Lewis Sheen did likewise for the visitors.


Mickleton Rangers defeated visitors Tewkesbury Town 5-1 thanks to goals from Hicks, Collins, White, Robinson and Beech. Jordan netted for Town.

Pinvin United won 4-2 at Cider Mill as goals from Bellamy (2), Izod and Carter did the damage. The hosts registered through Smith and Reading.

The top two both won in Division Two as leaders Offenham Rovers won a high-scoring game 5-3 at home to Quinton. Smith (2), Blanete, Koshev and Szymanski scored for Rovers, whilst James Drinkwater netted a hat-trick for Quinton.

Second placed New Inn Pershore remain a point behind with two games in hand after thumping visitors Bredon 9-1. Kyle Ballard (3), Brant, Joel Ballard, Kelly, Green, Lloyd and Smith were on the mark for the hosts, whilst Shepherd scored the visitors’ consolation goal.

Alderton eased to a 5-0 success at home to Dragons as Jones (2) and Goodwin got amongst the scorers.

Unbeaten Broadway United Reserves, who have games in hand, maintained their Division Three promotion push with a 7-0 triumph at TDMS in which Steel (2), Cooper, Cainey, Sallis, Heritage and Berryman scored the goals.

Veterans Ben Greenwood (2) and Simon Brain scored for Bretforton Old Boys Reserves, who are also unbeaten, in their 3-1 home win over Ambi Allsports, for whom Booth netted.

Stour Excelsior Reserves were 10-1 victors at Avon Titans as Clarke and Kemp hit hat-tricks and Cartwright, Gregg and Smith also struck. Deacon scored for Titans.

Graham Begley was the hat-trick hero for Ashton 88 in their comfortable 4-1 win at Bengeworth. Fisher also struck for the victors and Burford was the scorer for the hosts.
