Ashton keep motoring along nicely

ASHTON 88 continued their excellent season with a 4-3 home victory over Stour Excelsior Reserves to reach the second round of the Evesham Hospital Sunday Minor Cup.

Will Stevens (3) and Leo Fleming scored for Ashton and Stour netted through Eliot Wright, Alex Gregg and Tom Grace.

Jake Gray and George Mallory scored for Pebworth as they accounted for visitors AFC Cheltenham 3-1, with Luke Sutherland on the mark for Cheltenham.

Carl Wallace and Luke Woodfield were on target for TDMS Harvington in their 2-1 home win over Cropthorne, for whom Adam Borton scored.




Goals from Josh Allen, Matt Greaves and Liam Pennell saw Alderton through 3-0 against visitors Fortis and Vale United maintained their recent good form in knocking out second division side TDMS Evesham 8-4 with goals from Graham Westmacott (3), Paul Law (3), James Wallace and Matt O’Donovan. Josh Brotherton, Matt Craig, Tom Fallows and Karl Field registered for TDMS.

Stratford HGC won 3-0 at Bredon through goals from Sam Jalowiecki (2) and Matt Barber and Fladbury hit eight without reply against visitors Badsey Recreation as Jake Jordan (3), Alex Brettell (2), Will Green, Cameron Dickenson and Jordan Carter led the way.


Alex Lane hit a hat-trick for last season’s finalists Dragons and Jack Mason-Brown was also on target in a 4-2 success at Ambi Allsports, for whom Aiden Booth and Ian Dawe struck.

In the Evesham Hospital Sunday Junior Cup first round, New Inn Pershore had a successful trip to Stour Excelsior as they prevailed 3-1 through goals from Dan Rushton, James Rogers and Jack Hughes, with Owen Clarke on target for Stour.

In Evesham Sunday League Division One, Bretforton Sports Club and visitors Evesham WMC drew 2-2 as Grant Pinkney and Luke Smith-Daniel scored for Sports and Elliott Grady and Ben Carter struck for the Workies.

Inkberrow edged out visitors Mickleton Rangers 4-3 as goals from Alex Griffiths (2), Greg Guy and Keiron Sheen did the trick, with Rangers netting through Josh Collins, Joshua Keyte and Chris Mills.

Alcester Town cruised to an 11-1 success at Fairfield Titans in Division Three as Mani Singh (5), Carl Reynolds (4), Jordan Reilly and Dominic Hogan got among the goals.

Strawberry Field United defeated visitors Bengeworth 6-1, with Connor Sherry (3), Callum Mason, Matt Magee and Keiran Downey scoring for the Evesham side.
